Swansea Girls Hockey League
SGHL invited to Toronto Furies Home opener
Our league has been offered a unique opportunity for its players and their families by the Toronto Furies of the CWHL.
The Furies' CWHL home opener is on November 9th at the Mastercard Centre (Kipling, south of the Gardiner) when the Calgary Inferno will be paying a visit.
Their second home game is on December 15th versus the Brampton Thunder.
Tickets are normally $10 per person but for SGHL and families on either of those nights, admission will be only $7 per person. If numbers warrant, there will be a special section set aside for SGHL players and families to enjoy the game.
Which would be wonderful enough, but further, all SGHL players attending with at least one additional family member will be entered in one of two draws for each of those nights.
Two SGHL players 14 years or older will be invited to participate in the warmups with the Furies and on top of that, two more players 13 years or younger will be invited out to stand at the blue line with the team for the national anthem!
All four players will be invited into the dressing room to dress with the team prior to the game! The day before each game, the four names will be drawn at random from the appropriate group of SGHL players who have tickets for that game.
Best of all, the Toronto Furies are being extremely generous and have made us the following offer. If twenty or more different SGHL players attend one (or both) games, the Toronto Furies will run a special practice for all of those players. If forty or more different SGHL players attend, they will organize a second practice for us and each of the girls will be invited to one or the other.
The ticket pricing is extended to all past SGHL players as well, though the additional offers (draw to be on the ice or to attend the special practice) are exclusive to this year's roster of 136 SGHL players.
Tickets will be available at SGHL games from either Tom or Gilles. If you can, let me know ahead of time about how many tickets you would like and we'll try to have enough on hand.
